ITER ("The Way" in Latin) is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today.
In southern France, 35 nations are collaborating to build the world's largest tokamak, a magnetic fusion device that has been designed to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars.
The experimental campaign that will be carried out at ITER is crucial to advancing fusion science and preparing the way for the fusion power plants of tomorrow.
ITER will be the first fusion device to produce net energy, maintain fusion for long periods of time, and ITER will be the first fusion device to test the integrated technologies, materials, and physics regimes necessary for the commercial production of fusion-based electricity.

The making of the ITER toroidal field coils
19 D-shaped superconducting magnets, each one weighing as much as a jetliner and standing 5 storeys tall. These are the ITER toroidal field (TF) coils, 18 of which will be placed around the vacuum vessel to produce a total magnetic energy of 41 gigajoules and a maximum magnetic field of 11.8 tesla. Their design, prototyping and fabrication is a story that started long ago. This is the film that was shown during a ceremony of completion on 1 July 2024 at ITER. I worked on the JET machine that came before ITER - it had cost overruns, took longer than originally planned, and it had numerous setbacks. It was however finished. It exceeded it's original goals, created fusion, and we learned a lot, not least that with a positive mindset, our species can achieve what some believe is impossible.

Meine bescheidene Frage : soll das eine Supraleiterspule werden oder ist das ein total gekapselter Hochfrequenzgenerator mit Koaxkabelresonator mit gleichförmiger Innen - Querschnittsfrequenz als Einzelteil ? also der aktive Frequenzgeneratorzusatz im Nebenraum ? oder abgestimmter Wandlertrafo ? Die kennt doch auch jeder Elektrotechniker. 3:42 Wh. sind möglicherweise ? die Bilder durcheinandergekommen, aber von der Zuordnung vieleicht gedanklich gelöst.
a) es fehlt noch ein Wehneltkorbzylinder zur Kompression des Kathodenstrahls. b) Hauptstom auf Kupferrohren für supraleitenden Kreisstrom. mit 64 x 10 hoch 8 Leitfähigkeit für Hauptstrom isoliert per Klemm - Leisten aus a) rausgeführt, zum modifizierten Phasenabgriff. Nur wäre dieser 0.0 isolierend ? c) Wehnelt außen gehört noch um 90 °gedreht. Es fehlen vertikal oben und unten im "Eck noch" die adäquat komplett anliegende zweite Wehnelt - Wicklungs. bzw Drahtführungsbox ? d) für ausreichende Feldstärken und mittigem Arbeitspunkt fehlt aber noch die richtig angekoppelte Seitenspule, sonst wird es eine Leerlaufinduktivität ?

It sems very likely that the economics will not work out. It is possible solar power, which is happening now, will make all this work irrelevant.

It won’t firing up until 2039…? It was supposedly to have started testing back in 2020. What’s with the delays you might ask.. Well people. Nuclear war is coming and they ( Russia, China, EU and USA are the biggest funders of this project ) know this and are waiting for 3/4 of the population to perish.
